Defending champions Mumbai Indians have included fast bowling all-rounder Roush Kalaria in their main squad in place of injured Mohsin Khan for the UAE leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021).
Kalaria went to Abu Dhabi with the Mumbai Indians team as a ‘back-up’ player. With this the 28-year-old also secured his first IPL contract.
Kalaria was part of the India Under-19 team in the 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He has been a key player for Gujarat in domestic cricket since his debut in 2012.
Kalaria was included in the team during the training session on Saturday. The T20 league will resume on Sunday with the match between five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians (MI vs CSK) and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings.
The first half of IPL 2021 was held in India. It was stopped midway after the corona burglary in a strict bio bubble. 29 matches were played in the first half.
A total of 31 matches will be played in the second half. Chennai’s team is second in the points table while Mumbai Indians is at number four. IPL matches in UAE will be played in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
