Ookla’s Speedtest Global Index compares the world’s speed test data each month. The data for the Global Index comes from a number of tests that the general public uses to test their Internet performance per month speed tests.
The global mobile average download speed was 56.74 Mbps. The average upload speed was 12.61 Mbps with a delay of 37 ms. Speedtest recorded a fixed global average download speed of 110.24 Mbps and an average upload speed of 60.13 Mbps with 19 ms delay.

According to the August Global Speedtest Index, the United Arab Emirates topped in terms of mobile broadband and fixed broadband with an average download speed of 195.52 Mbps and Singapore 262.20 Mbps.
Cuba and Liberia, along with the Marshall Islands, recorded the highest growth in mobile download speeds and fixed broadband speeds in August 2021. Last month’s data released by Ookla shows that India has registered the highest growth in fixed broadband download speed of 60.06Mbps, which was the best growth from 40.45Mbps in July last year.
