Delhi government schools have received 2.36 lakh applications. This number is higher than last year. So far, for the academic session 2021-22, more than 1.58 lakh admissions have been done in government schools from nursery to class 12. By including new admissions, the number of students in government schools has now increased to 17.67 lakh students. Last year this number was 16.28 lakh. Admission process is still on.
The Delhi government claims that due to quality education in government schools, a lot of children have shifted from private schools and in the last few years more than 2 lakh students from private schools have been enrolled in government schools. This time the Directorate of Education of Delhi has received 2,36,522 applications for Nursery to Class 12. So far 1,58,484 students have been admitted to the schools. Admission process is still on.
For non-plan admission in classes 6 to 10 and 12 in government schools, online applications will be made till September 20. Schools will be allotted to the selected students on September 24. According to the Directorate of Education, after new admissions, the number of enrolled students in government schools has reached 17.67. Last year this number was 16.28 lakh, while for the 2019-2020 session, the number of students was 15.05 lakh.
